DESIGN BRIEF - CONCEPT

The BAÑULS range of catamarans started with a 60ft design promoted as the MC²60. Two boats were built. The concept was then extended to smaller and larger models to offer boats between 53 and 78 ft.

The BAÑULS 60 was born from the vision of designing an elegant, sleek looking, high performance cruising catamaran.

The idea was to achieve an all round sailing performance similar to that of a TP52 - without the need of 15 crew sitting on the rail plus offering an interior compatible with family cruising.

Speed was the key component. The catamaran was designed to achieve high performance even in the light-medium conditions (target boat speed > TWS when reaching in 4 knots +).

The BAÑULS 60 is easily handled by one person, whilst family and guests enjoy the speed in an indoor-outdoor living space. When sailed by a crew of 4-6 competent racing sailors, the boat can be safely pushed to 20-25 knots boat speed in a strong breeze.

In order to achieve this design brief, the boat is light - therefore built in high-tech composites. The design and handling is inspired from shorthanded racing multihulls with top-end equipment supplied by the best specialists.

Speed, Luxury and Elegance is the basic concept of the BAÑULS range.

The new models follow the original concept of the BAÑULS 60.
